Despite the drought and the high temperature, the vines are doing well, especially the older ones. There is some water stress in the higher areas of the vineyards in respect to the lower areas. The weather stations, that are placed in our vineyards, registered a high temperature during the day, but luckily the temperature gets much lower during the night. There is a good grape production this year. In order to lower the temperature of the vegetation and of the clusters, we have sprayed the vines with kaolin. Kaolin is a type of white clay and it is sprayed in a powder form. As it is white, it reflects the sun rays consequently lowering the temperature on the vegetation and on the clusters, defending the vines from water stress.
